Vision
Our vision is rooted in the principles of justice, equality, and human rights for all individuals, regardless of their background.
We envision a society where every Oromo individual can freely express their opinions, participate in decision-making processes, and actively engage in civil and political activities without fear of discrimination or reprisal. We strive for a society that values the diversity of the Oromo people and fosters an inclusive and equitable environment for all.
The OCCPR envisions a future where the Oromo people in the diaspora and in their homeland have equal access to justice, fair representation, and active participation in governance at all levels. We aim to empower and educate the Oromo community, ensuring that they are aware of their rights and equipped with the necessary tools to defend and advocate for themselves.
In our vision, the OCCPR plays a vital role as a leading civil rights institution in advancing a dignity of our people locally, nationally and globally. We envision a center that provides a platform for dialogue, research, and advocacy, promoting and defending the rights of the Oromo people at the local, national, and international levels. Through strategic partnerships and collaborations, we aim to influence policies, legislation, and practices that impact the Oromo nation, ultimately working towards a society that respects and protects their rights.
In summary, the vision for the Oromo Center for Civil and Political Rights is to create a just and inclusive society where the civil and political rights of the Oromo people are fully defended, respected, protected, and realized. Through our efforts, we aspire to empower the Oromo community, promote equality, and contribute to a brighter future for Oromo and all.
